Job Summary

Lebanon Seaboard Corporation is recruiting a Production Manager to join our Wild Bird Food Operations, located in Interlaken, NY. This individual will be responsible for developing, evaluating, maintaining systems and configuring production process systems to reduce cost, increase capacity, ensure safety, increase uptime, improve quality and develop best practices.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Monitors production output and address/resolve product quality problems
  • Works cross-functionally with other Company Managers
  • Provides technical support to the Maintenance Group during problem solving and process improvement activity
  • Evaluates and improves processes in production systems
  • Leads Company Quality Improvement Program (QIC)
  • Improves process capability and production volume rates while maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Develops and implements systems that optimizes all phases of the production process
  • Conducts internal/external root cause analysis and develops corrective actions for internal problems and customer quality concerns
  • Researches and benchmarks new process technologies within our production facilities
  • Prepares reports (KPIs), flow diagrams and charts
  • Assesses the availability of raw materials and the safety and environmental impact of the plant
  • Responsibility for Plant Safety programs
  • Ensure full compliance for all OSHA regulations
  • Ensure all Regulatory Compliance – DEP, GMP, HAZMAT, NY, Townships, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical requirements – bending, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 25lbs
  • Confined space entry may be required
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • 50% in office environment, and 50% on the production floor/outside

Work Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or related field/work experience
  • (3) or more years working experience in manufacturing is preferred
  • Supervisory experience as a shift supervisor or lead person in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge and application of Six Sigma, LEAN and SPC techniques (capability studies/trend analysis)
