Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of demand analysis, planning, scheduling and raw material buying for multi-shift, multi-plant, high-volume seasonal manufacturing environment. This includes work order generation and maintenance, shipping and receiving transaction processing, purchase order processing and negotiations. reporting to the Interface on a regular basis with the plant managers and site personnel on materials, scheduling and inventory requirements. Based at Lebanon Seaboard’s HQ, this position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Plans production schedules, issues production work orders and buys raw materials to meet customers’ demands
  • Prepares master schedule for 2 or more plants and creates sequence and lead time parameters in order to meet shipping dates according to customer orders and or sales forecasts
  • Processes Purchase Orders in a timely and efficient manner to support the production schedule
  • Analyzes proposals and bids. Meet with vendors and internal clients on material requirements
  • Monitors customer orders and plans accordingly
  • Assures appropriate inventory levels through collaboration with operating departments
  • Clearly communicates product availability status and potential production problems to ensure that all interested parties / departments are well informed
  • Schedules Demand planning meetings as needed in order to work with various departments to identify critical issues relative to raw materials, sales forecast changes, customer changes etc.
  • Researches production plan discrepancies and production variances, investigates and performs root cause analysis and identifies necessary corrective actions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel / Office and capacity planning software’s
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize

Work Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or supply chain management is required
  • 3-5 years’ experience production planning, buying and production schedules
